Jenna, thanks for sharing your heart. You have a gift of writing. I am so sorry that you felt trapped inside the walls of your church. Itβs unfortunate that man has taken the simple gospel message and twisted it in a way to put a heavy burdens upon people. Jesus specifically rebuked the religious leaders for doing this very thing. I am glad to hear you are healing and finding freedom from the containment of denominational constraints. I do hope that you and John still keep your heart open for Jesus. Unlike church structures- Salvation is a gift to receive not a goal to achieve. I wish more churches would actually practice what they preachβ¦βFor it is by grace you have been saved, through faithβand this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of Godβnot by works or human striving.β βEphesians 2:8β9 β€οΈ
Hi Mary! Thanks for your kind comment. Both John and I are fans of Jesus and his teachings, just have differing opinions than the church on the interpretations of those teachings and the meaning of salvation. Maybe one day Iβll write an in-depth post on my beliefs today and how I got to them. Iβm very familiar with the verse and stories you brought up in your comment. Both John and I studied the Bible extensively (Iβm talkinβ studying ancient Greek and Hebrew for translating) in our years at Bible school and elsewhere!
We are many, who were raised Christian and taught to suppress ourselves. My wife and I have been married almost 45 years and we're still dealing with issues implanted deep within. Thank you for your openness! I know it will resonate with many.
Ive been with my dude for 6 years and we die once a year im not joking LOL all relationships die. Its when both people say yes to moving forward, the staying together happens!!!
Can confirm: Jenna was the easy child and I was the wild one lol
Thanks for sharing such a personal experience! I love you and thankful for you and John and Myles in our lives :)
